This destination styled shoot was inspired by the movie My Fair Lady (starring the iconic Audrey Hepburn). With a breathtaking locale like Haiku Mill, a restored sugar mill in Maui, Hawaii, and with vendors from every corner of the world, this shoot naturally called for so many unique elements to form a smorgasbord of style.
The fresh, hand-picked blooms that already surrounded this space was every florist’s dream come true. Whatever colour or pattern palette I chose (in this case, many shades of pink, alongside black and white pinstripes) jived so well with its rural surroundings. We created a reverse centrepiece by suspending a parasol upside down while having a floral garland cascade down towards the elegantly styled table. To help the day’s dew glisten in the natural light, we used a chandelier with glass beads strung together and hung glass balls to catch rays of the Hawaiian sun adding a layer of warmth to the overall scene.
Worlds truly did collide to help form a one-of-a-kind styled shoot – vintage Hollywood meets the rustic Old World.
